@aral@ar.al "While the fool may point out that the emperor wears no clothes, the emperor still remains an emperor and the fool remains a fool." @aral maybe kick out religions and capitalism and the same time? According to history both are highly detrimental to humanity 🧐 @danielsreichenbach @aral yes please. And dont forget that religions usually support capitalism by alienating people into believing that we are powerless and inferior. @f4grx @danielsreichenbach @aral not all religions do this btw, especially not the "dangerous ones" that Empire tries desperately to suppress.
@aral @danielsreichenbach @f4grx organised, abrahamistic religions not all religions do that; in paganism it is a common theme, for example, that the gods won’t save you but they give you a reason (sometimes even an arse kick) to save yourself, and it’s a natural companion to science, not opposed to science like US-american evangelicals @aral I keep seeing this quotation, but every time I just think: most people still believe in the divine right of kings, at least round here. So it doesn’t seem particularly inspiring! |
