@dansup the thought is so damn tempting, esp. considering how hard Discord is pushing to upgrade people to a paid tier.

But losing custom emojis, the gif picker, voice channels and all the other things that actually makes Discord great - urgh..

@karbowiak does it really though? gifs are just reactions, and same with emoji, when you remove those it's almost like a more productive atmosphere, where discord encourages annoying behavior, irc is like the opposite

I will admit the overload of gifs and emojis can sometimes be a bit much.

Wouldn't mind an alternative tho, but everytime i look at Element/Riot the several year old issues of adding these exact things (with multiple pull requests to add them) have gone stale.

Wouldn't mind if they focused on the weird things for a brief time to make it cater to the Discord crowd so we could murder it πŸ˜ƒβ€‹
