 I've tried my best to be a good maintainer to #pixelfed, and for the most part I've been really lucky to have such a supportive community. That being said, negative feedback really hurts. I take it personally. And that's not a bad thing because I'm able to fix it in most cases, and make the user(s) happy. I finally fixed the most prominent bug in Metro 2.0, full width previews, and it really means a lot to me that users are happy with it. Pixelfed really is powered by the people. 11 comments
@gmate8 Yeah rounded corners aren't for everyone. The new design is basically the old design but 3 columns instead of 2, rounded corners and our own reaction bar (like/share/comment buttons). We made it more "FB" like to better mesh with the fediverse and other platforms that support content other than just images & video. That being said, would you like us to add a UI Setting to disable rounded corners on posts? (We use rounded corners a lot, can only promise non-rounded timeline posts) @dansup I wholeheartedly appreciate the work you put in. it really is amazing for what you have brought to the public to use 🖤 @dansup really appreciate all the hard work you are putting into #pixelfed . The ui is extremely beautiful and and should be showcase for the federated community, what to strive for. Still trying to figure out where it fits in my #selfhosted lab.  @dansup You're doing kick ass as a maintainer Dansup. You listen to the community, work on what the community asks for, promote the great things that come out of it and generally make a fabulous piece of community powered software. I don'[t even use #Pixelfed as #Instagram and that kind of network aren't really my jam, but I'm inspired by what you're doing with the project.  @dansup I think you're a really great maintainer. In 4 years you have created a really large, sophisticated and ambitious application on our own, something wonderful out of nothing. After such a time, you don't show symptoms of boredom, fatigue or burnout. On the contrary, you still surprise with creativity, developing new and interesting features, often working on many of them at the same time. @dansup People still need to remember that Metro 2.0 is still in beta and won't be perfect until it's complete. Everyone also needs to remember that it's not as easy as changing a few lines of code to fix an issue. It may even take weeks to find the source for a bug and issue a fix. Either way, all the best for the future of PixelFed. |

@dansup my only need for Pixelfed is the posts not to have rounded post corners like the old Pixelfed design does :/
Imo the new design looks more like Facebook instead of the original Pixelfed concept
