Made some very mild kimchi :P!

Cabbage is super expensive at the grocery store nowadays, but bought 2 large ones on special this week. Really pays to look at flyers for times when produce is cheaper :>!

I keep the expired flyers to light the wood stove…

@rek cabbage expensive!!?! Jeez. In BC? Very affordable here in kraut world. I use a large ceramic urn (about 5 liters) for kimchi/ sauerkraut. Birds eye chili kraut!

@poetaster It's been expensive for a while, believe me id prefer if it wasnt. It didnt used to be that way here.

@rek I've been making kimchi a lot these days too... and lactofermented hot sauce! we had a lot of cabbage from our csa and had like 5lbs of hot peppers dropped off to us from a friend. haven't tried buying either yet, but def believe you. prices are unbelievable, and they've started locking up the dumpsters. -_-

@eejum awesome that you're getting some good produce! That lactofermented hot sauce must be so so good, never tried to make that.
Used to keep up with a dumpster diving group in Montreal(never did it myself, but did pick up some stuff from other divers a few times), back then already was getting thougher to get stuff :/.
