If posting every three or four weeks (at best) makes them experts on Mastodon, how do I get in on the gravy train?

I'm only on seven days a week

@FinchHaven @jalcine Well, at least they did something. Better than there not being a Mastodon for Dummies book, in my view, especially if it's half-decent like some reported. They were probably the best authors that the Dummies publisher had contact with who were interested in writing a book about Mastodon.

@FinchHaven @ducky @jalcine To get on the “gravy train” you find a publisher or agent, pitch a book, get them to agree to a deal, write it and then publish it

It’s not easy in the least

IMHO there's much more to authority than just posting regularly. For example accounts of public figures tend to create their own bubble values as they don't try to be part of a community.

On the other hand there are people who are deeply invested in the technical and social aspects of the platform, but don't really feel the need to publish a lot (or alternatively don't feel like they have anything worth saying).
