They have posted nothing bar one reply to one post. Obviously this is where they are positioning themselves against other instances, even choosing a similar name (to be clear, is perfectly justified!). Boilerplate "Hi!" and what you propose? Please. There are 2 things people should take care to evaluate when joining an instance. The community they want to host (eg special interest), and how well it is admijistered (moderated) based on its rules and (whispers...) blocklist. This introduction has stated the intended interest they want to serve. Check. However his thread is full of critique of the administration AS PRESENTED. No reading between the lines. @doug @artmin |
@ophiocephalic @artmin Calling it a dogpile feels like it's doing people a dis-service. The 3 toots I see other than yours are pointing out some pretty important things for a server to get right :sylveon_sip:
Blindly importing a blocklist can do so much harm, and judging by what's on it and the "reasons" for the blocks, it looks like it is/was a badly informed, badly maintained blocklist :zerotwo_learn:
That said, considering they're new admins, I don't think anybody expects them to get it all right straight out of the gate. What's important is whether they see this and start making corrections or if they dismiss it all as "a dogpile" :espeon_love:
