Then ask yourself this question: After the experience of going to all the trouble and expense of starting up a new instance, and sending out one friendly message, only to get hit with a shitstorm of complaints about the first pass of their blocklist choices and the actions of *other instances* that they themselves have nothing to do with - why would they or anyone else even bother to get involved here? This dogshit is destroying the fedi. For fucks sake give them a chance to get set up and settled in before smearing all this shit in their faces

Thanks for suggesting that :bear_love: Let's see...opinions on "no porn", concerns about affiliation with a certain not-Irish-not-Fairy, people not liking the idea of instances that centralise a specific profession, whinging about fedi vs Bluesky, along with a handful of people welcoming them and their instance.
Overall, counting toots, it's not too bad, though many more words were written in the negative than the welcoming toots :zerotwo_shrug: I can see where you might see a dogpile, even if I wouldn't reach that same conclusion.
Overall, I'd still say this is a good chance for them to round up concerns and see where they can go from there. Discard the drivel about Bluesky and the griping about instances that have a specific purpose, see what they can do about their block-list and how they manage it, and go from there. Heck, they even explicitly thank Kye for bringing up an issue with their blocklist (https://mastoart.social/@artmin/111330114827722132) which makes me at least slightly optimistic :eevee_joy:
