I kept the habit of my 'direct ballpen' training and I'm trying now anatomy on various perspective.

It's mind breaking difficult and I still fail in most of the case. But I still feel I'm learning a lot, so I'll keep pushing.

If you wonder why so many Cammy of Street Fighter: it's the first character that came to my mind when I wanted to study body anatomy in transport without going NSFW (but I'll CW here for that).

@davidrevoy These are wonderful, sir! That's the beauty in being an artist. Always learning and growing and changing.

Kaspi

@davidrevoy Haha, these are fantastic! I love the humour in your training pages. And to me they look already quite good.

David Revoy

@kaspi Thanks, yes the humor is often a twist I often plug in the end around the studies: like in the case of the two swimmers, the two aerial body studies, where I added the shark and swimming pool after. 🦈 If I don't do that around my studies, I often find browsing back my sketchbook boring 😆

@davidrevoy These are amazing!

Jay

@davidrevoy Is that Cammy from Street Fighter?

David Revoy

@jaytorres Yes, but from what I remember of her in Super Street Fighter 2 or Street Fighter Zero series. So, it might not be accurate for her body paintings and details.

She is athletic, and muscle exagerations or extreme fighting pose is cool to studies if I can draw them directly with ballpen.

She was the first character in bathing suit I could remember to not draw NSFW characters (useful in the train, when a lot of kids also walk around)

@davidrevoy nice. Discovered the Cammies before reading the toot. Cool stuff.

@davidrevoy Incredible work! Looooove how you draw expressions (and some of these eyes are to die for). Also your perspective and shading are👌👌👌 so even if its hard the training is clearly paying off

Ertain

@davidrevoy Say, that's some great looking perspectives you've got there. It seems to be coming up all White. 😄

David Revoy

@Ertain Thanks! I hope I'll be able to be more subtle in the future correctness of the 'short leg' VS 'long torso' proportional issue I often do on aerial view angle (and reverse issue with long leg on low view angle). It's hard to adapt the rythm of the proportion to an invisible grid. 🙂

Ertain

@davidrevoy Yes, it is hard to draw in perspective when you don't have a grid. (x_x)

@Ertain @davidrevoy

I know some folk use the 3d cube tool in inkscape to make perspective guides. Because you can set the type of perspective and just export it as a bunch of lines.

¡Emancipemos a los animales!

@davidrevoy ¡Son perfectas!

@davidrevoy As an aside: Yay, Super Street Fighter 2! ☺

Cammy is perfectly recognizable.

Dominic Martinez

@davidrevoy Wow, these are so good! The perspective is fantastic.
