I'd like a row for whether posts can be viewed without an account / without logging in.

I think X/Twitter is "sort of" because now you can only see one post, but not all the replies, if someone posts a twitter link.

I don't know what the status is for Bluesky or Threads.

I think on Mastodon public posts w/ public replies can be seen without logging in, as long as no blocking or other federation issues?

Please correct if wrong!

@ahimsa_pdx @rolle For Mastodon, it is up to each site administrator. Many permit browsing the local or explore streams without logging in, some do not.

Also, most instances support RSS so you can follow an account via subscribing to its RSS feed. This too is instance or account specific whether it is available.

@rolle I forgot to mention that there are different rules on X/Twitter for looking at profiles. I might know what someone's user name is on twitter but I can't just go to their profile like in the past.

I've gone to several profile links and after a pinned post all I can see is old posts (eg, from 2022), not their latest posts.
