@IAmDannyBoling @michaelgemar @chu Even a few years ago, you could rely on finding romaine lettuce at the big grocery stores, at different prices at different times of year of course. Now it is sometimes just not available. No big deal, you say, I'll just get a box of arugula, but wait until it is also oranges and eggs and salmon and chicken. Or wheat and soybeans. But it IS a big deal especially to those (like me) that have pets that eat only curly lettuce (i.e. not iceberg). Over the last year, I've had to resort to bagged salad mix several times because there just wasn't any lettuce to be found (or what little there was to be found was nearly rotten already). We didn't learn anything from the pandemic. Not even the most simple lessons. Tsk. |
