@pixelfed @dansup may I ask why you chose to only open source it once it reaches 1.0? Why not now?

@kite @pixelfed I'm more productive when I can focus all my time on coding, the rapid changes could make it hard for people to keep up and I didn't want to deal with support requests for people trying to build the app without xcode or android studio installed

@dansup @kite @pixelfed makes sense. I don't see a problem with this considering its going to be OSS anyway, presumably with its git history too.

@imadnyc @kite @pixelfed The git commit messages aren't that useful though haha

@dansup @kite @pixelfed lol I sometimes write gibberish for mine when I dont feel like writing an actual message no one will read other than me

Sometimes I worry that all of my "Fix previous commit mistakes AGAIN" commits will come.back to haunt me so its nice to see others are less diligent with their commit names as well.

@dansup @imadnyc @kite @pixelfed You can maybe keep an archive git repo with all these commits as is, and then another repo for the actual app. Both problems solved

@dansup @kite @pixelfed Unrelated, but do you have plans to make a native linux client? I would offer myself but I dont think I'm there with my skills yet

dansup

@imadnyc @kite @pixelfed I was thinking of that using the new NativePHP project, I think its just an electron wrapper though

@dansup @kite @pixelfed looks good, tho I'm not gonna pretend like I know a lot about how it works. I dont think its worth making right now and splintering efforts on it right now, though; I'd rather see more features on pixelfed. The stories feature is like exactly what I've been looking for, since I can't be posting garbage on my actual profile
