@pixelfed
Please say how to get Pixelfed. It isn’t on the IOS app store.

@KintsugiUwU @pixelfed Thank you. I knew about the beta but their posts don’t specify and i thought it had been released—and I seem to remember an announcement a while back that it was imminent

Kintsugi

@geophany @pixelfed they should officially release it next week, but not 100% sure. Let’s hope for the best

Join a server suggested for your interests or needs as listed on pixelfed.org/

You can use the web app (log into the server you join) if you want rather than use a dedicated app because it's good.

@geophany @pixelfed Pixelfed is a web-based app and has mobile versions in beta:

@geophany@mastodon.online If there is none, I think you have to go through the internet browser (safari on iOS for example). Most of the time, the mobile version of fedivers "app" websites are optimized for it :blob_cat:

@geophany @pixelfed Pixelfed isn’t a phone app in and of itself. It’s a piece of software that runs on a server, and you can access it either through the web interface or through an app. Just like Mastodon. :)

You will want to sign up at a Pixelfed server (instance) such as pixelfed.social (which is likely the only one so far that’s got the latest version, but if you wait a bit, others will upgrade pretty soon). Once you do so, I presume there will be instructions on how to import from your insta (if that’s what you’re looking to do). Thenyou can download an app (the only iOS one I know of offhand is Vernissage, though there’s an official app in beta) and upload/view posts in a similar fashion to insta.

The signup process has a walkthrough here pixelfed.org

Once you have an account on a Pixelfed server, you can share it with friends on any Fedi system (Mastodon, Pleroma, Firefish/Calckey, etc..) and they’ll be able to follow you there.

Hope that helps!

@geophany @pixelfed check pixelfed.org/mobile-apps for details about mobile apps.

Or just use the web interface (that's what I use!)
