"It was 2015 and we lived together in a punk house in Portland called Scowling House. August recorded the first Cinder Well songs I wrote on a four track tape recorder in my bedroom and on the piano in the living room (in a rare moment where it was empty). August and Bryan also printed the first tapes for me to take on tour in Europe."

"I met August in college in Santa Cruz, he was my teaching assistant in Intro to Marxism lol, a class taught by the mayor, where we'd have weekly potlucks at different houses around town. I recorded a song for my final project, I got a bad grade and Aug blamed it on the other TA."
