I'm at a crossroads, and have some important decisions to make regarding the news of the app UI sunset.

I have no doubt that NativeBase will still be supported beyond the next few months, so:

I can move forward with feature dev and a public app launch next month (and delay refactoring)

or

I can start refactoring the app now, and delay public release and new features until the new year

@dansup ditch the android and iOS apps for now. Try to improve on the website and let the API be compatible with 3rd party apps like Tusky. There is also Pixeldroid, myabe you can get in contact with them.

But the website is really more important. We as admins still miss a few moderation features and settings.

You can also consider PWAs I heard a lot or ppl are using those nowadays.

@dansup whatever, as long as you don't get a burnout

@dansup
"I can move forward with feature dev and a public app launch next month (and delay refactoring)"

And urge the community to pick up (some of) the refactoring

@dansup I can only speak for myself, but the main reason I haven’t started using Pixelfed yet is that I’m waiting for the iOS app to be released.

@dansup launch now for sure. Even just for your own sanity.

Get help to run the server though (if you haven’t already) and maybe even open source before you refactor.
