hi all #vispo, #concretePoetry and #poetry folk. I have a column set up to show me posts on visual poetry etc. And it's gone pretty quiet. Except for a few fabulous regulars like: Anyone got any tips to pull more in, or folk to follow - what's another good hashtag to add? so far it's this: 17 comments
@LauraKerrArt thanks for letting me know it's quiet elsewhere too - at least that means it's not broken here (I'm only here these days). And thank you for immediately posting something! @JPK_elmediat @LauraKerrArt yes there's definitely a skew to digital art, computational and generative stuff. I enjoy that, but really love the non computer versions or early computer experiments. Like the Aaron Marcus piece I posted. I'm going raid my library tonight, to see what I can post. Also, thank you for the many interesting things you share! @Paperposts @JPK_elmediat @LauraKerrArt @Paperposts I did find myself in an instructor/introducer role once I figured out what the lay of the land was around here. :dy18: @JPK_elmediat @LauraKerrArt I’m pretty sure i mistag things all the time - always happy to get pointers and advice on the different letterform art and visual poetry genres and subgenres - #asemicwriting was a recent discovery for me @LauraKerrArt @Paperposts I find it ironic that to some degree, any form of #AnalogArt, including #ExperimentalArt, such as #MixedMedia, #CollageArt, #AsemicArt, or #VisualPoetry, is seen by the young folk as #TraditionalArt. 😂 I'm so old. :bl26: I guess that makes me #Vintage. @JPK_elmediat @Paperposts Right On! I’m old school digital. I don’t like to relinquish too much to AI…when I’ve tried to use AI it has been more as an art critic for my work-extra pair of eyes. I am not fearful of using it responsibly & I do not use Chatgpt. Generative Art is different as I make a lot of Glitch Art which has a Chance Process, so it is generative. Why can’t we explore everything responsibly. I don’t like all AI art but I don’t like all Landscape painting either.  @Paperposts @LauraKerrArt not sure if it was already mentioned in this thread so sorry if its already known. hashtags dont "pull in" posts from remote servers. Only @ groups, relays and users do. So if no one on your server is following me for instance, you will not see any posts I make even if they are hashtaged one the tags you follow. This is a major issue with the way Mastodon works and one that there are many people thinking about but its quite unsolved yet. @liaizon @Paperposts that’s why it’s hard to find people here. And really can’t be good for the Art/Poetry we post. @LauraKerrArt @Paperposts have you tried posting to Lemmy communities from Mastodon yet? it actually helps solve this a bit. @LauraKerrArt @Paperposts Lemmy is another part of the fediverse, and the way that content travels is a bit different there. So you can make a normal post on your account here and then if you mention a @community@lemmy.instance.domain then it posts your post from here over there and then all responses from there get brought back to you here if you follow the whole community here. |

Over the past few years I have been using my own hashtag #sedserio as well as #vispo on Twitter. It’s quiet on all social media platforms. And even the Nfts platforms seem quiet. I wonder what that means?
