@grumpybozo@davidgerard I don't think they were saying X11 is bad, just that it's old and that it's worth it for development teams to flesh out a newer standard so that it's ready to adopt by the time that user's needs differ to the point that the old system doesn't meet them anymore. There's a reason why a lot of distros use X11, just like there's reasons why users would prefer a switch to Wayland in the future.
