Interesting, Diaspora added Nodeinfo 2 support and it was picked up by FediDB.

Now the hard decision, do I limit FediDB to ActivityPub or allow other networks?

@dansup You could add a toggle for filtering different federated technologies

@dansup I have always thought of the Fediverse as not just ActivityPub.

To me, any social network that uses any form of federation is the Fediverse.

And this is because in many instances, when a software implements one protocol, they have the ability to implement another.

Not always, always of course.

@dansup I don't think it makes sense to show disconnected networks there.

@dansup does it mean that it would open the doors to threads and cohort?
Please tell me no... 🙏

dansup

@globcoco Nope! We’ll be sticking to only ActivityPub!

Coralie Renée

@dansup so when u talked about other netwirk, u were thinking of which ones?

Sebastian Moser

@dansup Don’t, unless you’re personally supportive of other standards. More fragmentation “just because” won’t help the independent web.

Claudius

@dansup it works. Why change it, just to exclude them?

@dansup sort of interesting it is just getting picked up now. the Nodeinfo standard actually started with the Diaspora project and everyone else added it after them! (to the best of my remembering brain)
