I did build a LinkTree like service for the fediverse, mostly for @pixelfed, and was really close to shipping it until IG announced multiple bio links and it made me question why Pixelfed only allows 1 link.

Now I'm working to add support for custom fields, like Mastodon.

I may still launch this, not sure, I should do something with the fedi.bio domain 🤔

@pfefferle @pixelfed Yeah, its standalone and is powered by Masto/PF OAuth (so no signups needed), its a pretty typical laravel SPA. If there is enough demand, I'll open source it and start an instance.

I've just designed something similar for a client. It is like linktree but with a thumbnail. You get a grid at the top for your socials and a list at the bottom for News - Events - Other links
I think it's a good idea!

@dansup @pixelfed You should allow multiple links in #Pixelfed. I know #Misskey does not place a limit on how many links you can have (which is refreshing).

@darnell @pixelfed The main reasoning behind not allowing more than a single link was I couldn't find a good way to display them on the web UI without it feeling to cluttered.

I need to get more comfortable with designing outside of the "IG box", and have a few ideas on how to do this now.

@dansup @darnell @pixelfed “Link in bio” happens because IG prevents links in caption right? Maybe make links first class citizen in the caption field (eg. auto style as it’s being typed).
