Pixelfed admins will also be able to limit which mastodon instances can be used, and will be able to easily block or allow them from the admin dashboard!  @dansup will it be possible to migrate from a pixelfed account to an mastodon account w/o losing all the photos?  @dansup does it pick up a list of possible instances from a central place (like fedidb) , show the largest ones as buttons & has the rest as an auto-complete?  @dansup sooooo....what about those of us that already signed up for accounts on pixelfed.social? Can we change our auth mechanism, or is it just for new signups? Nice work, btw. This is a *great* feature  @dansup So that means that if you sign in with Mastodon, it will create a new about on the Pixelfed instance and import followers? Or will it use the existing Mastodon account via its client API?
 @dansup so this is singlesign on. Is it possible to use pixelfed app with a mastodon or simmilar id itself without setting up a pixelfed account. Any plans of supporting such a feature  @dansup does this link the accounts, or just use you mastodon for login credentials for logging into a pixelfed account? I've been holding off really getting into pixelfed, though I've had an account for months, because I've been under the impression an iOS app was coming Real Soon Now. This is one of the things that has led me to think there would soon be a finished app available in the app store. I'm old enough to have watched any number of wonderfully promising products reach a certain stage of non-completion and remain there, while the world rolls on. I'm on the exact same place dude, got an account, some photos, already gave it a try but... no app makes it harder to keep uploading from a casual user as me (i just upload classic pics of my dog, cat, i mean: domestic use). There's no point on transfering that kind of stuff to my PC to upload them in the web. And it's a turn off haha  What if I do have an account already? Can I combine both and keep just the Mastodon one? βοΈ  @dansup awesome feature, but can we have a sign up like in Mastodon where an admin has to allow the registration?  @dansup so you still make a pixelfed account instead of just the mastodon one? Would I be able to use the app and log in with my mastodon account? |
