I think he's forgetting just how unpopular most of the opinionated features of Mastodon are. @spaduf @WizardOfDocs @rigrig @Mastodon If a software is unpopular, then walling it off by blocking #federation servers won't save it. |
@rigrig @Mastodon I'm reading that as "Google and Facebook killed XMPP by getting nearly all XMPP users onto proprietary platforms before they shut it down. Meanwhile, the vast majority of the Fediverse will never belong to Google or Facebook, even if I, Gargron, personally sell out."
Is that an accurate translation, and is there a good reason to believe it?
