How are these options for sorting/filtering instances?

Any I should change, or add? Feedback appreciated!

@dansup I'm a fan of regional servers but the other big thing people seem to look for is servers with a focus on interests.

@dansup can you add a category for niche servers?

@dansup Consider having an “I am feeling lucky 🍀 . Just choose a random 🎲 server for me to get started” option for people who hate making choices.

@dansup Good options, and about just the right number of options. Any more and users might be overwhelmed. However, an option “the most popular one” might be what some (many?) users are looking for. Yes, that might not be what Fediverse advocates want to suggest, but, well, it’s about the users, isn’t it?

@dansup I'm aware of why you might not want to include "I want the biggest instance" as an option, but I think most naive users *think* that's what they want. Some clarity on what "smaller" means & a "none of the above" option may cover that, otherwise people will quit at that step. Is it also safe to assume "I am interested in a specific topic" is another page? I also would question the wording of "specific feature or limit" - what does that mean? Does it include moderation rules?

@dansup I love the idea of steering people towards the "perfect mastodon community" for them, but faceting on aspects like scale or longevity seems rather indirect + impersonal.

Shouldn't the goal instead be to match folks up with a home community (+ thus suitable moderation policies) based on however they happen to primarily identify?

1. marginalized
2. interests
3. place-based
4. general
