 The @mastodonusercount bot reports inaccurate counts btw It counts instances (and users) that have been shutdown for years, and does not properly handle spam or fake instance stat counts I should make a more accurate bot using https://fedidb.org data (which removes instances + counts which have been down for longer than 2 weeks) 3 comments
 @dansup @mastodonusercount looking at the user numbers (and particularly active users) on fedidb.org it definitely paints a different picture  @dansup @mastodonusercount maybe this is why big tech has an eye on the Fediverse - it's hard to get accurate numbers and they can embellish numbers to their advantage haha |
