⚡ We're taking our import/exportable block lists to the next level!
We're building an open service for Pixelfed called ModDB, and it will support other projects as well.
More details soon.

@pixelfed This seems like a bad idea. We already have the Fediblock list, which is supposed to weed out bad actors, and it's already seen a lot of scope creep, for better or for worse. The Fediverse is supposed to be decentralized, and centralized moderation completely breaks that model. @pixelfed How would moderators access the database without letting bots access the blocklists? On the Mastodon side, instance admins already have to hide blocklists from web scrapers like FBA bot, so a database of blocklists is a an all-you-can-scrape buffet for these bots unless specific measures are taken to prevent this. @pixelfed I have concerns about this : It seems to add centralisation @PhilipKing @pixelfed We just shipped a new app build with improved onboarding, post edits and a few bug fixes. The main project has also seen 3 new releases last month including federated Post Edits, several federation bug fixes and features. The mobile app is approaching the public release, and we continue to focus on improving the web UI with upcoming push notifications and accessibility enhancements. @pixelfed don't use this name. @pixelfed good thing federated techies and gamers don't overlap much or this name might confuse people about its relationship to https://moddb.com @pixelfed Someone tried this with Minecraft and it didn't work well. What safeguards does this system have against abuse? |
@pixelfed Isn't the word "mod" more commonly associated with modifications?
