@jalcine First thing on the marketing side would probably be creating a logo of some kind but I'm not sure how one would go about creating consensus around it or who gets final say in this kind of context.
The first step on the communications side would be figuring out what we want to communicate and to whom.
@jalcine But a lot of these things require a bit of a machine or dedicated people to really do well, and often a rather top down planning process, which is a bit antithetical to the fedi. Strategically it might be better to look at this like promoting a band or festival, where one is sort of doing awareness raising and informing but via cheaper and often more grassroots methods (more anarchist/grassroots, less capitalist). We shouldn't make the mistake of trying to out capitalist the capitalists, there's no way we can, what we want is a dedicated fan base and to make this space welcoming to the audiences we want to attract here. (This would probably also mean working with devs and people, who have already been discussing some of the technical and social barriers some people have experienced when trying to migrate here.)
