Is there a particularly expensive method or endpoint that could be surgically removed, or is it sort of blankety expensive?

@elijah @christianselig it’s almost certainly meant to kill third party applications and push users to their in-house app. They have no interest in making the api usable.

Yeah there are no other real explanation, especially since they are pairing it with the API not being willing to serve NSFW things, so they are targetting 3rd party applications, their official application is utter garbage, so it's the only way they can compete.

I think it's a bad faith proposal from Reddit, clearly intended to kill off third party apps while pretending to be accommodating.

@christianselig wow, that’s harsh. Also weird, and unlike many analogus APIs (YouTube, classic Twitter, etc) which try to align developer costs with server costs
