This last crypto spamrun appears to have targeted everyone "of interest" who is not on dotsocial. I guess it pays off to have that extra layer of federation.
By the time this loophole is closed another one will be found. Probably one that sneakingly circumvents your carefully crafted filters.
Mastodon and the fediverse really is, as the meme goes "very much like email". Unfortunately.

I used to be a moderator for a large online forum before social media and I saw some ugly things that the average user was never exposed to.
Now, I am the blissfully unaware user who doesn't see firsthand the depravity and vileness that gets posted online by bad actors.
I don't have answers for the spam problem. I just don't want to lose touch with friends because my instance grew too quickly and got defederated.
