I don't care if BlueSky gains popularity over Mastodon. At this point, I don't wanna be on the dance floor with the cool kids, imma be in the side room with the five weirdos I like.

@Theorem_Poem I know what is, but I don't understand - what are the advantages compared to Mastodon or AP. @san however, my guess is that BlueSky will end up being more of a standard for large businesses, simply due to the level of investment and the ability to control the top layer. @san There's no political balance. Right now it's a bunch of programmers and tech testers. However, the "front end", the part that you type into with graphics and pictures, etc... that's actually irrelevant. BlueSky is really a "protocol", like a way of sharing information, like "email". You wouldn't say "email" has a right or left view, it's just a thing. |
And since this is getting more traction than I ever thought it would, let me be clear. I'm not saying Mastodon gets a free pass or that we don't need moderation here. Everybody needs to listen to folks who feel threatened here and make this platform better for them. It's just that as of now, I am not putting my trust in billionaire-owned social media platforms.
