 Bizarre! Bluesky doesn’t support hashtags! By this, I mean that when you attempt a hashtag in Bluesky, it’s not rendered as a hyperlink. And when you do a search for a hashtag, it ignores the “#” argument and generates results without it. So I can’t say that Bluesky search is better than Mastodon—just that it’s the bizarro version of Mastodon search: * Mastodon search = hashtags, no full text See screenshots. 3 comments
@apples_and_pears Hashtags have a purpose: the hyperlink. The # argument with text allows people to instantly search with a click without having to utilize the search bar. @atomicpoet @apples_and_pears Tiktok, Instagram and Twitter now prefer users to not use hashtags the algorithms promote posts without them. It means that users have to put effort into their descriptions, no more hashtag soup is a good thing particularly on Instagram. A new app not acknowledging their existence at all is the natural extension of this. |
