@John_Livingston Unfortunately we require php 8.1 at minimum because that is what the laravel framework requires.
php7.4 hasn't had active support since 2021.

Yes I know.
But Debian has a long term policy, that is very appreciated by many sys admin. It is well known for its stability, and php 7.4 still receives security patch.
It would be very nice to not be too agressive with your update policy. Not only because of Debian, but also because we often have other application on the same server, and don't want to setup multiple php versions.
