 @lupacescu We understand Stories aren't for everyone. Users will be able to disable the Story Carousel in the App Settings so you will never see them! In addition, instance admins will be able to disable the Story feature, we think this gives the best of both worlds without sacrificing user preferences.  @pixelfed @lupacescu While I personally don't understand the point of stories, I think it's a good thing to have. We want everyone on the #Fediverse, including younger people. They might be used to it or even expect a story feature to be there.

@calotriton @pixelfed @lupacescu stories usually disappear after 24 hours. @signalapp also implemented them  @pixelfed I actually have the opposite issue: I was actually looking for something like Stories on the beta app and didn’t see any obvious way to find them, and I’m not seeing anything in the settings for that as yet. When you say users “will be able to” choose to see them or not, does that mean it’s a feature that hasn’t yet been implemented in the app?  @tanuva @pixelfed There is, but it's in beta, so you won't find it in app stores.
