I thought breaking the 900 mark was impossible, I'm starting to think breaking 100 here is. I know it's my fault but burying cats left and right leaves you with zero energy to 'socialize'. :(

@lkmad @eniko I dunno how it was for you (could just have been me being dull) but my 7500+ followers there meant nothing. +/- 7400 of em barely communicated at all (but still they followed??) and they barely shared my stuff unless it was particularly viral-worthy (which only happened a few times in 7+ years) - I don't think the value of Twit follows is as high as we think. As for sales, I know 5-10 came from people I knew, but whatever the other 7490 were doing, it wasn't buying my stuff! 🤷♂️  @psychicparrot42 @lkmad it had 13k followers and i feel like i had less interactions than i have here with 4.7 @eniko @lkmad 13k!? OK now you're just flexxxing 🤪 j/k. I do know I'm way less stressed than I was using bird site, I feel better that I'm not feeding the scumbag billionaire and his friends (with either money, clicks, content, retweets whatevers) annnd I don't have to ever read bait from them, so I'll take that for a few less sales any day. I get that other people might have a collection of folks waiting to buy stuff as soon as they post it, but that was never my experience of it. @psychicparrot42 @eniko I'm less concerned about sales and more about losing a bunch of people that I interacted with. Working from home you're alone a lot so it's nice to just vent sometimes or make a joke. I should really put more effort in here, if ferals stop dropping like flies maybe I'll have the mental energy. 😬  @eniko @psychicparrot42 @lkmad I don't even have 100 followers, never did twatter. And I have lots of interaction, despite not being anyone famous or connected to any important projects. I mean, if it's that easy for someone without any major points of attraction, just how much of a breeze would it be for someone who actively has something going on people are looking for? Mastodon is clearly way better at connecting people. @justafrog @eniko @psychicparrot42 for sure! I am more coming from the point of 'low energy' to make new friends aspect vs mastodon not having lovely people to connect with! :) @psychicparrot42 @eniko I think from the 300 people that I am following, it was those I interacted with at least on some level. So i'm guessing that number is closer to the truth of 'valuable' followers?! As for sales, I don't know how many sales it translated to, definitely a few though.  |
