@atomicpoet Journalists can't even bring themselves to leave a site run by someone who hates them, promotes right-wing extremism, and has contempt for the political system that protects journalism (among other things). They'll come to the fediverse if, and only if, Twitter completely collapses. I say that with sadness. @jeffjarvis

 @atomicpoet @dangillmor @jeffjarvis Another reason why they won’t move is because the government and educational accounts wouldn’t spend the time and effort setting up their own server. Easier and cheaper to outsource their IT to the #muskrat. |
@dangillmor @jeffjarvis Yeah, I get it. But I'll tell you why I'm befuddled.
For nearly a decade, I read articles from tech journalists bemoaning how social media tech bros just want to build things without feedback from journalists, academics, humanities, etc.
And I got to tell you, I took that on the chin! I personally went back to the drawing board and asked myself, "How can we build better social media?"
So it is disappointing to not have more journalists on board.
