like, I really want to host the Australian aus.pics or something but Pixelfed docker image seems to be DED. so I need help to maintain a long term instance.

@shlee Ideally I would bring the docker support up to date and ensure it remains properly maintained. I want to make Pixelfed easier to install and maintain!

As for S3, yes, it's possible to use for local media + remote avatars.

Local avatar + remote media support is in the works, should be released this month!
