@dansup The #Fediverse - in my opinion - won't ever catch up to the criminal commercial omniopticon social networks but that's not what matters I think: what matters for me is that the federated applications provides an alternatiive form of communication outside the control of power centers like Silicon Valley and other places in Asia and the Middle East.
