  @nus @dansup This is a problem across the board with federation. Everything is ad hoc and there is no appeals process. If you can imagine a total newbie being confronted with a list of servers that were no different other than by name, yet they're supposed to make an informed decision. And to top it off, within a few days they're banned for no reason and no explanation, then they're supposed to try again? This is how we lose hearts and minds. @ParanoidFactoid This situation definitely made me lose my mind (just a smidge). A similar thing happened when I made a satirical post on this account, mocking someone else's willing to be a bigot... got me pinned as a bigot and had my account limited for a while. Except the account limiting thing wasn't announced to me, I only figured it out when I couldn't make public posts @dansup @ParanoidFactoid FWIW I don't blame the moderators on that because I was able to work it out, there is just no interface to warn you if your account is limited (ANYWHERE) and the moderators here are probably reasonable, I reached out to Stux directly and that worked (I have no idea who the mods are)...     |
