@siderea @XanIndigo I know very little about Latin declensions, could you tell me why we say "benedicat mihi pater" instead of benedica or benedice?

I have no idea. That's not "bless me", it's "he blesses me". Imperatives end in vowels, like in "ora pro nobis" and "ite, missa sunt".
