 To answer questions about #SpaceHost: 1. How is this different from Digital Ocean 1-click install? Digital Ocean is for self-managed hosting, #SpaceHost is for fully-managed hosting. 2. How is this different from @mastohost? There's many differences, but the biggest one is that @mastohost focuses on Mastodon, and we do not! 3. Will you allow me to install my favourite service? A couple of days ago, I asked @gruber if he'd pay for fully managed hosting. He said, "Of course I would." It looks like a lot of people agree with him. Just as people pay for email and web hosting, there's a demand for Fediverse hosting. This is why we're building #SpaceHost. Also, #SpaceHost wants to help devs build the Fediverse! So when you host with us, you'll also be funding Fediverse devs. That's right! #SpaceHost will be spreading the good will around! |

Why are @reiver and I building #SpaceHost?
Because we looked at the Fediverse's biggest needs right now, and we both agree that there's a HUGE need for more instances.
And not just Mastodon instances. Every kind of instance!
But there's a big barrier to entry: most people have neither time nor expertise to self-host an instance.
So we want to make running an instance incredibly easy by doing the heavy lifting for you!
