 @TCatInReality @openrightsgroup I am all in favor of protecting kids Indeed, I bet more than you since I dont think Parenting should be a right but a privilege that you need to be tested to be worthy for. And if I was to count any evil you could name of "xyz other is trying to kill us" for every example you cite I can find the demogog also invoking "for the kids" as well  @rticks @openrightsgroup My main point was that "for the kids" has some value. Challenged/debated but not automatically discredited. Sounds like you agree. |

I think that's a bit histrionic.
I believe "To protect us from sub-human them (pick any outgroup)" has been the rationale for far more evil.
Yes, "for the kids" is abused. But kids do need some protections and that rationale is not immediately suspect. Challenge/discuss. A free for all is not a valid approach.
