These kinds of horrible remarks are not all that unusual. These attitudes are common and prevalent in society, and not even limited to conservatives. Greta has been attacked this way, by pathologizing her autism, since the inception of her activism.

@obrerx I literally wrote a book on that history, as well as an article on Greta and how she's attacked for being autistic. I don't think saying "not that unusual" really helps. Better to point it out. vox.com/first-person/2019/5/6/

@stevesilberman You've misinterpreted. I wasn't suggesting that you shouldn't point it out. You absolutely should.

That's why I boosted your post, to get it more notice.

Just broadening it even further for those who might not understand that it is more than something limited to the fascist MAGA movement we see on the rise. What has been said about Greta (and by extension to all autistics) reveals how we're conceptualized throughout society.
