Looking at my recent notifications I can say that Mastodon should probably change the order of it's "quick start" wizard.

I think that filling out user's profile should come before following recommended users.

You can ask "why?".

Imagine seeing a notification that someone just followed you. You open their profile and see either emptiness or normal profile with an avatar and some self-describing text.

Which one you'd follow back most likely?

I think our answers would be similar.

I also think that getting some followers when you just started are pretty good motivation to stay in the Fediverse.

Consider this an UX improvement proposal.
