New #Hometown release! In version 1.0.8 we have a handful of new features including:

- more explicit multiple-choice poll toggle
- ability to keep your local-only posts if you have automatic post deletion turned on
- RSS opt-out (privacy-oriented admins can set opt-out to default true for all users who haven't set theirs)
- some technical changes that will make it easier for 3rd party clients to support Hometown

@Genri Hometown is Mastodon with some tweaks and extra features to support small, tight-knit communities. So it's not an app you install on your computer or phone, it is software that the administrator of social.politicaconciencia.org could run (for example)

@rodneylives The next release will have v4 parity. It is going to come at the earliest whenever the *next* Mastodon release happens, depending on what bugs and tweaks happen in that fix. If the new year comes around and they haven't addressed what I think are the major issues with v4 then I am likely to just fix them myself, which will unfortunately result in greater divergence from Mastodon and more work for me, forever
