@Natanox @sesivany It's beyond schools, I think. Engraved in culture, as you say.

Here in the UK, many people chase all the trappings of great wealth, yet also denigrate anyone who has achieved such wealth. Like everyone has ambition to turn into someone they hate.

It's peculiar and disturbing. But has been going on for years and years.

@nigel @sesivany Schools are a central part of proliferating culture, ain't they? Especially given we've successfully taken away as much parental time as possible to feed the economics machine.
