 @cwebber heh, I've been reading the spec vocabs tonight whilst I implement a tool to convert my Twitter archive to ActivityPub structured data. Still not sure how to structure the indexing — thinking a collection per day / month / year with references to subsets (though I might be thinking wrong)  @thisismissem Really good idea about the data conversion tool. Sounds better approach compared to a static archives of a past Twitter posts. It would enable those posts to stay interactive part of future conversations.   I made an argument that Elon is has fallen victim to the dictator trap. The Atlantic was describing it for Putin, but it works well for how twitter is burning.   @cwebber no as far as I'm always a supporter of these interconnecting indie social medias, i still believed activity pub is a crap protocol where it dies nothing better than RSS/mail combo. Even mastodon impelemntation doesn't follow the protocol exactly. @chengdulittlea @cwebber you could have just scrolled on and not said anything. Why choose negativity? @mhall119 @cwebber idk... I'm sorry about that. It's just this very protocol has been a constant headache to work with in development 😔 Maybe situation can get better when more libraries and stuff are around when more people using it and fix some inconsistency in the future. I'm looking forward to it but yeah... You got the idea  @cwebber :D Well said, looking at events from different viewpoints can bring some fun :) @cwebber And most of that is debt, so he literally took out a loan to raise ActivityPub awareness.   I remember seeing someone post something along the lines of: I was skeptical about him at first, but Elon's shown that he can take a social network and make it wildly successful... Mastodon.

And it grew on me and nowadays I'm like "Aaah, I want more capability-based security systems (not always object kind), specially at the OS-level, it's great for least-privilege". @technomancy @cwebber I'll confess, I also find it a bit amusing that there's some wailing and gnashing of teeth from some folks who seem to regard social networks as some sort of competitive sport.
