There was a downside to all that growth too though. Before June 2009 no major news networks were really doing anything on Twitter. The first time a major news network aired coverage of actual tweets, was the day that Neda Agha-Soltan was murdered during the Green Movement in Tehran and CNN aired the video of her murder. Everything changed after that and journos and others tweeting on the ground in Tehran were killed because of coverage of their tweets.
