 I've changed quite a few parts on joinmastodon.org/servers today in response to the feedback from the past week. In detail: You can now filter by region, type of legal entity, and sign-up speed. Added note about why the topics filter exists. Changed tagline. "Get on waitlist" has become "Apply for an account" for servers that manually review new sign-ups. I'm trying to build a global/fediverse wide hashtag list to help people organise around hashtags - https://hashtags.fyi - does something like that exist? They just want to sign up on Mastodon and take it for a spin. Take the guesswork away for people not yet accustomed to mastodon. @strizhechenko @Gargron Understanding what aspects matter and which could be clarified. Over time network effects should help make the local timeline less necessary, as long as the onboarding is solid.  @Gargron would it be possible to show the list of servers that have been blocked by a server on there? Might help people pick servers that are being actively moderated  @Gargron @Gargron Appreciate what you've built here and all the work that goes into it, so a huge thank you first. Secondly, looks like a couple of friends tried to join mastodon.online but never received confirmation emails even after trying the re-send link. Should that be automatic or is there a waiting period or queue for new signups there? (TY again!) @jhonygutierrez I'm running into a daily e-mail sending limit with our provider. Thank you for your hard work! @IgnisIncendio It was misinterpreted as a signal that servers are silos, and people gravitated towards the largest ones on that merit. @Gargron Ah, and here I was worrying how I’d guide my friend to small servers without the total user count :P my UX intuition was way off. (Unless I'm missing something) @Gargron removing the user count is a very good thing. The FOMO psychology is real, but you truly don't miss out on anything because of federation. I think this will really help  @Gargron The past couple days I have not been unable use my federated or local feeds, I'm not too computer smart but is this just temporary or do I have to start a new channel? What about allowing a simplified sign-up procedure for beginners that do not care about instances?
