Gregory's ServerMastodon does not store passwords in plain text. This is trivial to confirm as Mastodon is an open-source project. We use the bcrypt algorithm for one-way hashing of passwords. I can't believe someone is spreading misinformation about something so trivial to debunk.

Got no logic to back this statement up; However, It maybe worth looking into if the other platform uses this as a strategy to fear users from switching when they noticed a huge drop in account numbers. :/

@Gargron This is particularly sad for me as this huge difference could happen without the help of a recommender system. I always thought that ok, there is human behavior but we also need ML to magnify it so much. However, it was blown here quite well without it.

I have a feeling that is not even necessary larger: it is just comes earlier because we are motivated to click on more dangerous, cognitially more challenging things first before the convenient reassurance.

Secondly, there is exactly one post authored by me that contains the word "nazi", and it is from 2016. Thirdly, I don't ban anyone, because that's the job of the 3 moderators who work here.

@coyote When have I ever praised Venezuela either? Do you have any receipts I am genuinely curious now. Eunomia is a cool project that has nothing in common with spying or credit scores. It’s like a helper toolkit for your home feed to get more context for posts according to your own criteria. It is also completely walled off from the actual fediverse so nobody who hasn’t consented participates in it. I suggest following its account for updates and more information.
