@darius @cypnk Yeah, I think the default new user experience of computers now is being "trained" on a very narrow application (office work, point of sale, whatever) and being almost actively discouraged from playing around. It's so grim! And yeah I suspect lots of educational institutions go in assuming people have skills that they wouldn't be taught anywhere other than those institutions. It's one of the rare areas I think where new software could fill a huge gap.
