@ntnsndr basically if substack essentially sees journalists as contractors who create content that helps substack, rather than seeing themselves as a service provided to journalists who want to make money and own their own content, then it's at the very least a kind of scabbing-in-the-future
@darius definitely a new boss. It's a standard venture backed company. It says: "look at all these old media companies exploiting charismatic elites by using their revenues to pay for inefficient office workers! We can grab the elites and ditch the workers!"
