Gregory's Server@flugennock I don't know what it could be. It sounds like a familiar problem but I checked and there's no way for that particular cause to have caused it. Could it be that your internet connection dropped in that exact moment?

@Gargron That may well have been it. My wife has been doing a lot of binge-watching on Netflix over the wifi, causing my wired connection to become glacially slow at times, with Web page loads timing out or only partially loading half-busted pages.
It really did seem to be a kind of a transient "...wut?" kind of moment.
