@scy My favourite is this Bavarian/Austrian dialekt:

Squirrel - Oachkatzlschwoaf (Oak-cat-tail)

In standard German it's "Eichhörnchen" (Oak-horn)

though both, oak and horn, may have been derived from archaic words relating to agile movement and their species or family.
